Henley & District Talking Newspaper Association - £3,500
A grant of £3,500 funded the updating of recording equipment from analogue to digital and purchased new playing devices and memory sticks for the users.
The Foundation has supported this organisation on many occasions over the years. While this carers centre offers support to carers of all ages, their young carers project support children who live in a long term 'caring situation', often as the main person looking after an adult.
After running for 20 years, this youth club in the village of Blewbury, near Didcot, needed to be revitalised and attract more members. So a grant went towards the running costs and new equipment for the young people to use.
We have helped fund two outings per year for the next 3 years for this lunch club for the elderly in Shiplake, Binfield Heath and the area surrounding Henley.
The room used by this group was closed down as a fire hazard. Consequently, they now use part of the local church but needed screens, mats and storage boxes for their equipment, which a recent grant purchased.
