"Our original aim was completely achieved - "thank you."  We now have a sound rainwater collection system and a mains supply should we need it.  This is a huge improvement to our small site.  We had only one standpipe at the entrance to out allotments.  Now we have a system of interlinked troughs and standpipes to enable our many new and old plot holders easy access to water.  The barn and its troughs have become something of a meeting place - people chat whilst filling their watering cans, questions and advice are being passed to one another - perfect!  We have also purchased a much needed notice board and bench for the site. We hope to site these near to the trough as this is now becoming a gathering point. It is hoped the bench will become a place where people can leave excess crops, young plants etc. for other people to take.  So our grant has not only given water but in a small but important way - a communal meeting place."
