A grant helped establish the Oxford Food Bank, now called re-plenish (
www.re-plenish.org), to collect and redistribute unsold food from local supermarkets and suppliers to a wide range of local community projects in and around Oxford. These projects in turn provide healthy, wholesome food to local vulnerable people, ranging from the elderly to the homeless, to disadvantaged families to people with mental health problems. At the same time, the amount of unsold food that ends up in landfill is reduced.
